Aniseed is a dynamic PR agency that offers a fresh approach to media relations.
We specialise in media relations for the marketing and event industries from digital, SEO, experiential and design agencies to destination management organisations, venues, exhibitions and PCOs.
We believe that great PR can only be achieved by understanding and having empathy with the brand and the personalities behind that brand. There has got to be a ‘click’.
Aniseed is something that evokes a reaction — we’re certainly not vanilla...
Our Approach
We work proactively to enhance your new business strategy and ensure that your clients and potential clients read about your work and thoughts.
We quickly identify the most effective communication channels to get you in front of your target audience – from traditional press and online magazine coverage, speaker platforms and awards to blogs, twitter and other social media channels.
Then we work with you to establish the key issues to be associated with – the ones that are important to your target audience. The ones that will gain press attention and position your organisation as one to watch.
One of our strengths is identifying and extracting trends from your past work, then packaging them up and ‘selling’ them in to journalists in the shape of article synopses, blogs, opinion pieces and feature ideas.
We believe that social media is just another, very effective communication tool, and we integrate our clients’ social media into their PR strategies – ensuring a consistent tone of voice and approach
We have a down to earth approach and we are very easy to work with.

“Jill Hawkins is a rare breed of PR consultant, in the 8 years that Jill and I have worked together she has never once faltered in her ability to deliver on her promises.
I have had the pleasure of working with Jill on a number of initiatives over the years and her dedication to her role and the task put to her is a testament to her skill, her drive and dedication to her trade, she has an incredible ability to look at a client’s PR opportunities and ensure maximum value from those opportunities to the benefit of both the publisher and the client.
In my opinion she is without question the best in her trade.”
Ian Irving, creative strategy director at Breed
“I have had the pleasure of working with Jill since 2009, and what can I say... she gets me, she gets my readers and she's open to ideas when that pitch just needs the slightest of tweaks. No article is too big and no article is too small and when I scream "help" she comes running in her riding boots! Ever helpful, ever happy and always honest, Jill's one of the angels on the ‘dark side’.”
Caroline Clift, editor, Stand Out
“I’ve known Jill personally for over 15 years which makes it all the more surprising that we have employed her in a professional capacity for a number of years now!
Jill is a fantastic PR person – by which I mean that she loves to sit around chatting while drinking copious amounts of wine. She also has a remarkable talent for fancy dress.”
Simon Clayton, chief ideas officer, RefTech
“We appointed Jill Hawkins in 2014 to manage the PR for the Conference and Hospitality Show in Leeds. Jill had an immediate and powerful impact on our media presence. Her experience, contacts, and knowledge of the meetings industry has made her an invaluable part of the CHS team, so much so that I have expanded her remit to include other events and some personal PR for me too. I have no hesitation in recommending her services.”
Emma Cartmell, managing director, CHS Group UK
“Jill Hawkins is one of the true, small band of really knowledgeable PR leaders specialising in the UK meetings industry. I have valued Jill's insights, pro-active pitching and intellectual vigour since first meeting her on my first day in the business. She is a consistent champion of her clients, while possessing an incisive intuition for what the media require, and in what format. She makes the process of connecting the industry's various parts a holistic process, producing results all round. I have no hesitation in recommending Jill as one of the most effective PR performers around and hope to benefit from tapping into her knowledge and skills for many more years to come. The oil in aniseed is commonly used to ease griping: Jill's company Aniseed certainly has a track record of soothing journalistic pains, by adding flavour to company press releases and feature material, which are most often distilled into a powerful media liquor able to pack quite a punch.”
Paul Colston, managing editor, Mash Media (Conference News, CMW)

Photography
Aniseed PR has expanded and now includes a division specialising in photography for the events and hospitality industries — from venues and destinations, to conferences, exhibitions, networking and experiential events.
Photography is everywhere — we are a visual bunch and the very temporary nature of events means that photography is essential to record your efforts. Great event photography can really help you get the best out of your event; you have great images to help share the buzz on social media and in the press and an effective way to promote and sell your future events too. Sponsors, partners and stakeholders all appreciate having a record of their input and its results.
We are friendly, approachable and able to work as part of your events team to ensure that your brief is followed and delivered.
